Colorado, Utah, Idaho trip

We had a great time on our trip to Colorado, Utah & Idaho.  We left our house on Saturday, June 2nd in the morning and got back to our house on Saturday evening, July 7th.  We put over 4000 miles on our van and got to see a lot of family members and friends.  It was wonderful to have so much time. 

Brett was able to be with us at the beginning to take us to Colorado.  He left Monday morning, June 4th to head back to Oklahoma and was back in Utah on  Thursday, June 28th. 

We're trying to figure out when we'll come out next year.

The 4th of July

We were in American Falls & Pocatello on the 4th of July.  It was a fun day!    I love to wear red, white & blue on the 4th.  Brett was so kind to comply to my desire.  I didn't even ask him.  We got this picture taken after the breakfast at my parents ward building in American Falls.

Sprinkle Me Happy Cake

The kids helped me decorate this cake.  Before I put the cake in the oven, Lincoln said, "That doesn't look like cake."  Then, after it was decorated, Samantha said, "That cake does look happy."

It was fun to make.  No occasion, just to satisfy a need to bake a cake.:)

Cakes

I've been having fun making cakes lately.  In the May 2012 Better Homes & Gardens Magazine, there are several fun cakes.  I made the Mini Chocolate Cakes (for my birthday) and the Cherry Flower Power cake just because.

The Science Museum

We went to the Science Museum on Wednesday, May 2nd, with the Robins.  It was a great time!

Family Pictures

We just got our pictures taken in Oklahoma City.  I love how they turned out.:)

Visit from the Petersons!

Deena & Harley's family came to visit on Tuesday.  We went to Garrett's t-ball game while they were here.  It was great fun.  We wish we could follow them for the rest of their multi-state trip. 

Easter

We had fun this Easter.  We had an Easter Egg Hunt with some of Garrett's friends, then we had one for the family with our friends, decorated eggs as a family, and had a family in our ward over for dinner on Easter Sunday.

Jayne is 1!!!

I can't believe my sweet little baby is already 1!  She is so much fun. 
We had a little family party yesterday-Safari Themed.  Lincoln drew a picture of a zebra and we had a little bean bag toss into the zebra's mouth.  We danced to the music on "Jungle Book" and played musical chairs.  We also had some stuffed animals (an alligator look alike, a giraffe, a bear, a frog) that were on the floor and we let the Jayne crawl to them.  Jayne loves to dance and shook her little behind when the music came on.

We had zebra cake and triple chocolate cheesecake icecream (that Garrett chose) to finish off the evening.  Happy Birthday, sweet little Jayne!

Man cannot live by bread alone

I made bread on Monday and while it was rising in the oven, I noticed it wasn't getting any bigger.  I wondered if it was because the weather was so warm that day.  Then, I asked Brett and he said, "Do you think there's something wrong with the yeast?"  Then, I realized that I didn't put yeast in.  This is the final, cooked product.  Needless to say, I ended up making bread on Thursday because this bread was not what it was cracked up to be.:)  So sad because I was so excited to eat some nice, fresh, hot bread.

Garrett's firefighter birthday

Garrett had a wonderful birthday this year.  We had a birthday party and invited friends.  After playing games and having a firefighter's lunch ( (a sack lunch with a peanut butter sandwich, apples, and a  bag of chips).  We also had a bottle of water for each kid that said, "Fire Extinguisher" on it.), we played some games and then went to the fire station for a tour.

Sight word recognition

Today we went to Lincoln's school to watch him get recognized for learning his sight words.  He is standing behind the girl in the black.  He's wearing a jacket with a red stripe.

Jayne's 11 months old today!!

Our sweet little Jayne turned 11 months old today.  She's got her mama's hair, some would say.  Nice and crazy.:)  I sang, "Happy 11 months to Jayne" and she loved it.  Not a surprise.  She is so much fun.  I love watching her grow and watching the other kids oo and aw over her.

Jayne's 10 months old!

Little Jayne is so sweet and so much fun.  She is now 10 months old.  Garrett is such a great brother to her and always wants to help her out.  He wanted to be in the pictures with Jayne.
